Mini Film Review – Now You See Me

I have just watched Now You See Me; and it was pretty good! Directed by Louis Leterrier, and starring Mark Ruffalo, Melanie Laurent, Jesse Eisenberg, and Woody Harrelson; Now You See Me is a heist movie about an FBI team trying to bring down a major crime gang, who all happen to be successful magicians. It’s a very strange film, as the film focusses more on the FBI team trying to bring down the magicians, rather than the magicians; who are introduced first. The film then goes down the route of trying to explain how the magic and the crimes work; but which in turn are double bluffs; making the viewer constantly question what’s going on; like a live magic show. As the film reaches its climax, it leaves the viewer still guessing and questioning what’s going on (I think having a read of the film’s synopsis at this point is totally ok)! It’s strange, it’s weird, but it’s got some nice action sequences, some good chase scenes, and some decent character work helmed by a great, and star-studded ensemble cast. It’s as enjoyable as seeing a live magic show!
