Mini Book Review – The Butterfly Assassin

Recently I have been reading The Butterfly Assassin; and it was brilliant! Written by Finn Longman, and published by Simon and Schuster; The Butterfly Assassin is a young adult thriller novel, about a young girl called Isabel Ryans, who was trained up to be a killer at a young age, but who really wants to be free from that world altogether! Set in the fictional city of Espera, the story gets going very quickly as Isabel does something that will attract too much attention, especially in a city full of deadly assassins. The world is built up very gradually, and in turn more characters are introduced, and so well developed to, as they come to understand who Isabel is, but in turn start to see the good that’s really in her, even if they can’t bring it out her. The book does like to talk theory quite often, and goes over stuff over and over again too; but, this is easily one of the best books I have read in recent memory. I just wanted to keep reading it, discover how stories are resolved, and just hope that my favourite characters can survive at least one more intense chapter. So much fun to read!
