I have just seen The Creator; and it was pretty good! Directed by Gareth Edwards, and starring John David Washington, Madeleine Yuna Voyles, and Ken Watanabe; The Creator is a science fiction film set in a world where humans are at war with an artificial intelligence, and where a human soldier finds tries to protect a robotic girl. The Creator is a beautifully created vision of a future, featuring spectacular visuals, but all inside a believable world. It features a cool easy going story laced with plenty of action sequences, and some dramatic twisting viewpoints. It does though have some plot niggles. Firstly, and quite early on, it sort of loses all direction, and you get really lost trying to figure out where exactly this story is going, and what the end objective is. Also, the whole idea of a religious like robotic saviour is an interesting idea, but one which gets completely lost in the action and is never really brought back up. It all comes to a head in a visually pleasing conclusion, but one that doesn’t wrap anything up. It just ends, and there’s no clue as to if any of the final actions have any meaningful point to them. It just ends. But, these few niggles are pretty minor thankfully, and on the whole it was a very decently enjoyable movie!
