Last night I went to see Fern Brady‘s I Gave You Milk to Drink tour at the Grand Theatre in Lancaster; and it was very, very funny! Starring Fern Brady, with supporting act Peter Brush; I Gave You Milk to Drink is the latest tour, featuring the Scottish comedian, and former Taskmaster contestant. The opening supporting act from Peter Brush was absolutely hilarious. He told very long jokes, with a story to them, which always ultimately led to an incredibly funny punchline, that leaves you in stitches. Fern Brady’s show also told a lot of personal stories, focussing on things such as an interesting conversation about botox with a Harry Potter star, whilst also leaving room to talk about her autism diagnosis, and desires to voice a talking fish in a movie. There’s also interesting stories too, which are nice and long, with many laughs in between, whilst also building up to some of the more side-splitting laughs in the entire show; such as the story of an enlightening trip to Thailand with another former Taskmaster contestant, and the awkward conversation backstage on a well known baking competition, involving a judge, and a Spice Girl. It was a continously funny show, with laughs every minute, no major spacing, but one virtually every second. I was also rather fascinated to discover that I match two of the three categories, of Fern’s most dedicated audience groups: 1 – I have a bushy beard, and 2 – I play Bass Guitar!
