Mini Video Game Review – City Game Studio

Recently I have been playing City Game Studio; and it was pretty good! Developed by Binogure Studio, City Game Studio is a Management Simulation game, where the player takes control of a Video Game Development studio! The game is pretty simillar to Game Dev Tycoon in principal mechanics. So players need to give it a name, a theme, choose which console it’s released on, and what features the game includes. They then need to release it, and watch the money (hopefully) roll in. But it’s not just games that the player can create, as they can also build new video game consoles, as well as their own buildings. It features a lot more gameplay opportunities than Game Dev Tycoon, with the option to own multiple studios, and even buy shares in competitors. It’s cool that you can work on more than one project at a time, plus really furnish your studio spaces. The game though does involve a lot of pop-ups, which can obscure the screen. Plus, whilst there is an online leaderboard showing how well you perform in contrast to other players, it doesn’t have a way of showing how each of your own studio’s did in comparison (like there is in Game Dev Tycoon). Also final scorring takes soo long to do. These little niggles though are bareable, in the fact that the bottom two, happen right at the end of the game, rather than constant, like the pop-ups. Despite the issues though, City Game Studio is a really engrossing experience, that will keep you hooked for hours!
