Last night I went to see Iron Maiden: The Future Past Tour 2023 at the Manchester Arena; and it was both Amazing! Featuring Iron Maiden, with supporting act Lord of the Lost; The Future Past Tour 2023 is the latest Iron Maiden tour, featuring a range of songs from both the Somewhere in Time, and Senjutsu albums, as well as a list of classic favorites too. The opening act really set the bar high. I had of course heard them at Eurovision earlier this year, but last nights performance was simply incredible, and it did feel like it was something that even Iron Maiden may find hard to top.
But then came the main event, which was such an incredible show. I have seen many live Iron Maiden performances on YouTube before, but actually seeing them perform live in front of me felt really special. The stage was thankfully flagged with some screens to allow close-up videos of the band too, so even if you were far away in the corner, you could still see the full picture. I heard some old classics I hadn’t heard much of before, as well as some newer material, and the old favourites, wrapped all up into one explosive show that was enjoyable from start to finish. The room was just a powerhouse of sound, never letting up, but still relatively clear enough to hear every key note. And the cherry on this amazing cake; was that they finished it all off, with my number 1 favourite song in the whole wide world…Wasted Years!
