The other night, I saw Now You See Me: Now You Don’t; and it was pretty good! Directed by Ruben Fleischer, and starring Jesse Eisenberg, Justice Smith, and Ariana Greenblatt; Now You See Me: Now You Don’t is a heist film, and the latest film in the Now You See Me film series, which this time sees the Horsemen reuniting after a 10 year break, to assist a new group of magicians, as they try to take down a wealthy diamond miner! It has been 10 years since the last film, but the story does work in this time difference quite well. The story to begin with largely focusses on the new trio of magicians, but as time passes, they work the original horsemen in. But it’s easy to get sidetracked, because if you are like me, you really hope Lula (Lizzy Caplan) makes an appearance. Anyway, other previous characters do return (they should bring back Mélanie Laurent‘s character at some point). There’s no continuing vilainry from the previous two films, with this one choosing to focus on an all new villain played by Rosamund Pike. As time passes by, you’re treated to a cavalcade of action, comedy, magic and surprises, all culminating in the kind of twist the two previous films did so well. It was a very entertaining and enjoyable movie, and best of all…LULA’S BACK, SERIOUSLY NOT A JOKE; LULA IS BACK!!!
