Mini Film Review – The Shape of Water

The Shape of Water is a beautiful film!
It’s a film that tells a compelling yet beautiful story and creates characters to love and characters to loathe. Sally Hawkins is Amazing, and the film had moments of happiness and moments of deep sadness using historical moments and creations to create living artwork; paintings to draw you in, and both captivate and explain moments of emotion. It uses real life incidents such as the American Civil Rights Movement to help display the plight of the creature, but also leave you with ideas and theories, but ultimately explaining the question of what is important: how someone looks, or who they are underneath; as well as what/who is the real Monster? A very enjoyable film and one I will look forward to watching again soon.
