Mini Book Review – The Revenge Of The Demon Headmaster

Recently I have been reading The Revenge of the Demon Headmaster; and it was really good! Written by Gillian Cross, and published by OUP Oxford; The Revenge of the Demon Headmaster is the third book in The Demon Headmaster series of novels. This time, the SPLAT gang are investigating a new TV show that everyone is watching, about a pig called Hunky Parker, and discover how enraged people get when Hunky isn’t around! This is the first book in the series that I have read that isn’t directly tied to the TV series, as this one wasn’t adapted to TV. From the first time I started reading it, I didn’t want to stop. It was so engrossing and exciting, I just wanted to keep on reading. The book is the perfect adaptation and demonstration of how fads and crazes can get out of hand, as it demonstrates how mad people get for certain things, and won’t settle for anything less in their lives other than the big new craze. It was, weirdly, and realistically terrifying. The last few chapters are a bit of a blur as the book tries to end things quickly, but, it still doesn’t take away from how incredibly enjoyable, and fun this book was!
