The 10 Board Games I Have Played The Most

Since late 2018, I have been recording all my Board Game plays on an app on my phone called Board Game Stats! It’s quite a fun way to record statistics. It records what games you have played, where you played them, who you played them with, length of time it took to play the game, and of course who won (whilst also keeping a record of all your best scores). I really enjoy using it, and it’s frequently fun to look through it, and remember what I played and so on.

Google Play

One of the satistics I look at frequently, is the page that shows you which games I have played more than most. So, since it’s been about five plus years since I started using it (as well as the fact I don’t post more posts about Board Games on here), I thought I would share with you, which games on the list I have up to this played more than most, plus it could be fun to do an update sometime in the future to see if anything has changed. Now some games recorded on here have equal number of plays, but are still ranked, and that’s because the app uses length of gameplay (time) as the deciding factor in those situations.

Anyway, without further ado; here are The 10 Board Games I Have Played The Most; Enjoy!

10. Mancala (21 Plays) – Whilst I have had access to a Mancala set for nearly 20 years now, it’s only really in the last 2-3 years, that I have been playing it. The previous set though was rather hard to transport given it’s rigid structure, but after investing in a foldable board, where pieces can’t fall out, I have really stepped up in playing this cool game of strategy, which can be annoyingly difficult to truly master!

9. Sagrada (22 Plays) – Sagrada is a cool small-ish game, where players build stained glass windows. It’s more of a puzzle like experience than an arty one, as you are not trying to make a picture, or work of art, and more trying to follow the template chosen at the start of the game. Again, a tricky one to master, but also really fun to play, and relatively simple to teach too!

8. Quarriors! (22 Plays) – So glad that one of my all time favourite Board Games is amongst the top ten most played. It’s been over a decade now since I first played Quarriors, and it still comfortably sits within my Top 2 favourite Board Games. Yes, the expansions have now all dried up in favour of Dice Masters, but this game is still a fun experience to bring out every now and then!

7. Dobble (24 Plays) – An easy one to both learn and play, with plenty of rule variants to spice up further gameplays, but one where speed is literally everything. It’s simple, there are cards with lots of pictures on them, and you need to find the picture which matches another card, as all cards have at least one image in relation to every other card. It’s a beautifully thought out idea, and well designed too, plus it can happily fit in a short window of time!

6. Dice Throne (24 Plays) – Whilst Quarriors fits within my Top 2 favourite board games, this one is not far behind, currently sitting within the Top 3. Dice Throne is a card game, simillar in playing style to popular trading card game series, but with two added benefits. Firstly, there is no need to do any trading or buy booster packs, as all the cards you need are in one box (minus expansions, but still follow the same rule), and secondly, it features Dice which are fun to roll, plus give both a real element of chance in combat, plus several different combinations, should your intended move not pay out the way you intended it to!

5. Taluva (25 Plays) – I like to think of Taluva, as like Carcassonne; but in 3D. You place tiles, and then place wooden figures on top of those tiles. But the map can change, as players can cause volcanic eruptions, causing mountains to appear, spreading the map out not just across the table, but towards the ceiling too!

4. Parade (26 Plays) – Much like Mancala above, this is one I have played a few times over the years, but since purchasing my own copy, well, my play times have since skyrocketed. Parade is an interesting card based experience, as it’s a game where getting lots of cards could either be a good thing, or a very bad thing. If you get more cards of a certain colour than anyone else, then those cards are effectively just one point each, but if you don’t get the monopoly, they are instead worth face value; and at the end of the game, it’s whoever has the least amount of points who wins!

3. Twice As Clever! (28 Plays) – The Clever series of games, are pretty fun games. In a nutshell, I like to think of them as being a cross between Bingo and Yahtzee. There are multiple combinations to get with the dice, leading to some chain reactory gameplay, potentially scoring major points later on. This is the second game in the series, which is a bit trickier to play than the first game, but still a whole lot more simple, than the two following games (or at least I like to think so)!

2. Sleeping Queens (37 Plays) – Sleeping Queens is so simple, it can be played by any age group, and was in fact originally created by a child. You have a hand of cards, with some number cards which mostly fill up the deck, and some action cards to. The action cards do a variety of things, but at the end of the day, it’s whoever has woken up the most Queens, who wins the game!

1. That’s Pretty Clever (46 Plays) – The most recent entry in the Clever series, makes this one look as simple as Ticket To Ride. Both Clever, and Twice as Clever are amongst my most played games for a reason. During Lockdown, when I couldn’t play with my friends, I had access to these games, which came with a very easy to play solo variant, so I played this and Twice by myself over, and over, and over again. And as a result, they very quickly shot to the top of my most plays!
