This is an interesting one; it’s a puppet based black comedy opportunity to poke fun and include subjects that are obviously to mature for both Sesame Street and The Muppet Show. There is a lot of that comedy in there throughout and some really good laugh out loud moments, but it feels like a waste! The opportunities were there, but it feels like there could have been more, like these (very limited number of) subject matters can’t be the only things that were forbidden from Sesame Street? Despite this though, The Happytime Murders is a pretty fun film with some good puppet characters and great supporting human characters. So yeah, a pretty fun film.
