Mini TV Review – Runaways (Season 1)

I have just watched the final episode of season 1 of Marvel’s Runaways; it is very addictive TV………and Awesome! Set in the same world as the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Runaways focuses on the lives of a group of teenagers who have discovered some extraordinary talents of themselves, plus have also discovered that their own parents aren’t all that squeaky clean. The group of teens in Runaways are a brilliant bunch to put your backing into, starting the series off as a former group of friends, they become close again; their main reasoning for this is that their parents are all up to something. The parents are a strange grouping of those who are more than into their dark plans, and others who wish they had noting to do with it. The Teens are all fantastic, but to me the stand out has to be Molly (Allegra Acosta), possibly the most innocent of the group, while maybe not the leader of the group, definitely the strongest, and whose upbringing causes questions but also a level of sorrow as you really do feel for her. It’s a show which features great levels of teen drama and feels like a mix between classic animated episodes of X-Men: Evolution, and strangely Power Rangers. It is a great show, and one that I have not wanted to miss an episode of. I have not been so immersed in a show since viewing season 1 of Attack on Titan in late 2017.
