Recently I have been playing Rise of the Tomb Raider; and it was very enjoyable! Developed by Crystal Dynamics and starring Camilla Luddington; Rise of the Tomb Raider sets adventurer Lara Croft on a new escapade as she searches for the lost city of Kitezh. It’s a very strange experience on the whole as on the one hand it feels like this game is just repeating the format of the previous game, but on the other hand; that’s sort of what makes it good. The game’s story is ok at best, but does make twists seem a bit obvious, as the first major character betrayal is done by someone introduced in this game, instead of someone from the previous one, which would have felt more shocking! A new location and a new host of characters along with some new skills help set this game apart from it’s previous installment. I especially enjoyed the option to change styles of clothing without it feeling disjointed from the actual experience; it does though make weather and environment feel a little too unrealistic if you can explore the harsh wintery levels in a grey Henley or light leather jacket. Despite a few niggles here and there, its still a very enjoyable entry in the series, plus the poison arrows are, a very useful skill, in almost any combat situation!
