Mini TV Review – Red Dwarf: The Promised Land

I have just watched, Red Dwarf: The Promised Land; and it was pretty good! Directed by Doug Naylor, and starring Craig Charles, Robert Llewellyn, Danny John-Jules, and Chris Barrie; Red Dwarf: The Promised Land sees the crew of the mining ship Red Dwarf thrust into helping a rag tag group of cats who are running from the Feral Leader (Ray Fearon). The plot has some pacing issues with some long gaping holes where there could be some more stuff; it struggles from the attempt of it being a film rather than a lengthy episode of the show. The comedy however is quintessential Red Dwarf. It features classic gag referencing, plus some new and very funny material which pokes fun at reality. Best of all is the brilliant return of Holly (Norman Lovett), something that was too long in the making, but doesn’t waste the opportunity. Some plot issues maybe, but will still make you laugh full heartedly!
