Mini TV Review – Stumptown (Season 1)

Recently I have been watching Stumptown; and it’s been pretty good! Based on the comic book series of the same name by Greg Rucka and Matthew Southworth, and starring Cobie Smulders, Jake Johnson, and Michael Ealy; Stumptown follows amateur private investigator Dex Parios (Smulders), as she investigates crimes in Portland Oregon. The series is a nice and relatively easy watch. It’s a lot like Castle in that while crime is taken seriously, characters are still able to get involved in hijinks and still create moments to make you smile, or even laugh. The series arching sub-plot can slow down the pace of the show, as it Dex’s investigative techniques in dealing with the investigation of the day, that really allows the show to flourish. Plus there are some really cool and deep loving moments as characters have each others backs, creating some mini highlights during the series run!
