Mini Film Review – The New Mutants

I have (‘FINALLY!’) seen The New Mutants; and it was pretty good! Directed by Josh Boone, and starring Blu Hunt, Maisie Williams, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Alice Braga; The New Mutants is the thirteenth and final installment in the X-Men film series and follows a group of young mutants trapped inside a dark hospital facility. Whilst the film is supposedly a horror film, there wasn’t many surprises or shocks; it felt more like a condensed action film. It still features some frights, especially for those who are squeamish of needles (like me)! It’s a hard film to understand as it can take a while for any identity of a plot to surface. But, it’s definitely worthwhile to sticking around to the bitter end; as characters begin to grow on you, and you will be treated to a real special effects showdown at the end! It’s a nice minor finale, to a grand movie series!
