Mini Book Review – I Am Number Four

Recently I have been reading I Am Number Four; and I really enjoyed it! Written by Pittacus Lore, and published by Penguin; I Am Number Four is a science fiction book about a boy who is one of a group of aliens trying to survive on Earth, after a malevolent race of aliens wiped out their entire society. It’s a really interesting idea, with some nice little bits woven into the plot to heighten the seriousness of the story, whilst also weaving in an element of hope. Whilst it is predominantly a science fiction based story, it does feature quite a bit of teen romance. I don’t think I have read a book with so much teen romance in it before, and it was an interesting time watching the characters grow much closer together. The story was a constantly pleasurable read, packing a lot of genres into it’s small story; but it’s these diversions from one another that creates a real flavor within. A really cool idea, and I can’t wait to see where the story goes from here.
