Mini Film Review – Man Of Steel

Yesterday I watched Man of Steel, and I rather enjoyed it! Directed by Zack Snyder, and starring Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, and Michael Shannon; Man of Steel is a superhero movie acting as both a reboot of the Superman film series, and as the first film in the DC Extended Universe. In this film, Clark Kent discovers where he really comes from, and has to learn to adapt to his new skills quickly, as he comes face to face with General Zod. Its a rather interesting film as it did almost the opposite of what I was expecting, thinking it would be more like Sam Raimi‘s Spiderman. There is quite a bit of mumbling dialogue at the start of the film, but eventually it finally gets into gear and gets to the point. It features some surprising supporting cast members in Laurence Fishburne, Kevin Costner, and Russell Crowe, but does keep it’s focus on it’s main and supporting stars. It all leads to an interesting blend between action film and mini disaster movie, but it does overblow it’s final confrontation, even more so given how quickly it was resolved. But in the end, it was a pretty surprisingly enjoyable film!
