I have just watched Mary and the Witch’s Flower; and it was ok! Released by Studio Ponoc, Directed by Hiromasa Yonebayashi, and starring Ruby Barnhill, and Kate Winslet; Mary and the Witch’s Flower is an animated film based on the book The Little Broomstick by Mary Stewart. The film is beautifully animated carrying the same artistic styling of many Studio Ghibli classics. The plot however is rather hit and miss; it takes time to lead up to where exactly it’s going; and then tries to wrap up the whole the ending as quickly as possible. It features great scenes of magic and heart warming animal moments; but the story and it’s characters just flip from side to side and can cause some really head-scratching moments!
