Mini Film Review – Wonder Woman

I have just watched Wonder Woman; and it was pretty Good! Directed by Patty Jenkins, and starring Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, and David Thewlis; Wonder Woman is a superhero movie based on the DC Comics character of the same name. Set during the events of World War 1, an Amazonian Princess saves a man from drowning before setting out on an adventure to try and bring an end to all human wars. The opening sequence was fun but rather weird, as it sets up the titular character nicely, but takes time to setup a plot. Some of the film could be summed up as a take on Crocodile Dundee as a character from another background discovers a whole new world. Where this film though prevails is in it’s great directed action/fight sequences. The film possibly uses too much slow motion moments, but these don’t give up or deter away any energy, instead just helping to make the moments that little bit more profound and enriching. There are some pacing issues in the final battle, as it feels there are gaps where some energy is lost; but overall it is a really cool, yet dramatic superhero movie; that is definitely in no way shape or form a waste of anyone’s time! Plus, the soundtrack is pretty awesome!
