Places I Would Like To Visit – The Zoo

Being in the current lockdown situation can be a bit grim for all of us as there is a large amount of uncertainty in the air. We don’t know when or even if the lockdown will be eased and it can be rather worrying or possibly stressful. One of the things that I am doing though is coming up with a list of places I would like to hopefully visit sometime in the future. It gives me the hope of something to look forward to and the hope that maybe this whole situation will eventually get resolved. So, I thought I would share these with you. Instead of doing a list like I was originally planning to, I thought I would do one off (and hopefully little) posts about each one.

First off is the one on my list that I want to visit most: The Zoo. I don’t have an intended destination for this one. Most likely I will probably visit the South Lakes Safari Zoo in Dalton-in-Furness. I know it has a notorious reputation in its history, but I have always been a fan of the zoo as it features many animals that I really like, plus the awesome spectacle of seeing big cats climb giant poles for food. The last time I went was in 2017, where I saw a Wildebeest for the first time, which really made my day. Whilst they are not my personal favourite animal (a spot reserved for Rhinos), simply seeing one for the first time was amazing.

Another option I could visit is Chester Zoo. I have been to Chester Zoo before, but it’s probably close to two decades since the last time I went. I remember really enjoying having a ride on the monorail when I was younger, so maybe it’s time to revisit and see if they’re still there. I also heard that they may have Komodo Dragons, which is another one of my favourite animals; but I don’t think I have ever actually seen one in a zoo, except maybe for a reptile house in Delft.

I have a couple of options anyway for which Zoo I could go to!
