Mini Film Review – Geostorm

I rather liked it! Directed by Dean Devlin, and starring Gerard Butler, Jim Sturgess, and Abbie Cornish; Geostorm is a disaster movie about a series of strange weather phenomenon that is all controlled by a network of satellites. Its pretty much what happens if you crash The Day After Tomorrow into Armageddon. Its sort of a collision of the minds, if Roland Emmerich and Michael Bay (2 of my favourite directors) decided to work together, based on the first thoughts that popped into their heads. Yes, its a disaster movie to every extent, but also a very enjoyable film. While it has some cast and character development issues, it definitely has some of the best visual effects of 2017. Its certainly not the best film from 2017, but it is better than some films I can name without a seconds notice. Give it a try, you might be surprised!
